What is Better, Understanding or Agreement?
To even the dullest among us, it is obvious we live in an increasingly disagreeable culture. Our cable news shows are packed with lively voices telling the other why they are wrong. We post our political and moral views on social media and we respond to those who do. In light of the passionately debating culture, is it more important to find agreement with others, or to be understood and understand them?
